Shalom Ministry International PCUSA
Stone Mountain, GA
This multicultural (mostly Pan-African and South Asian) congregation met over the course of 1 year, regularly involving over 100 diverse members of the new and settled refugee community in Clarkston, GA, for worship, fellowship, breaking of the bread, and shared mission.
Volunteer Pastors Gad Mpoyo, Joy Fisher, Joshua and Sarah Ralston joined together with leaders in the refugee community to support the development of this community of faith.
The group realized quickly that the work and opportunities were so vast that the mission would benefit from a dedicated pastoral leader.
We want to respond to this incredible opportunity to serve God together in mission with our new sisters and brothers moving just steps away from Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
We have space, passion, some modest start-up funds, and the interest.
We are seeking mission funds and partnership from sister churches so that we can support a gifted pastoral leader to respond more completely to what we sense is God’s mission and opportunity to grow a healthy and impact-ful church of Christ’s disciples from all over the world.
